TAIPING, 6 June: Three hundred houses will be built under the People’s Housing Project (PPR) in Kamunting here this year to ensure the low income group owned houses.
State Industry, Investment and Development Corridor Committee Chairman Datuk Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid said the project under the Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministry would cost RM50 million.
Mohammad Zahir, who is also Kamunting state assemblyman, said the high demand for houses is due to rapid development in Kamunting.
“This is the second PPR project here after the first project in PPR Batu 2 1/2 in Taiping. The construction is to assist people in the lower income group to own a house,” he told Bernama here today.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Zahir said the Kamunting Assembly Service Centre was allocated RM1,000 every day to prepare ‘Bubur Lambuk’ throughout the month of Ramadan.
The distribution of bubur lambuk to members of the public in Kamunting will start after the Asar prayers.
