PASIR PUTEH, March 23 — The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) will promote Tok Bali in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, as the new investment hub to attract international investors to the state.
An international Islamic city, costing RM950 million, will soon be built in Tok Bali comprising an Islamic financial centre, Zheng Ho commercial centre, exclusive housing, city park, medium-cost housing, knowledge centre, Islamic community, floating mosque and Islamic medical centre.
Kelantan MITI Director Azran Deraman said Tok Bali has many infrastructure especially a supply base for the oil and gas industry.
Tok Bali, facing the South China Sea, would be facilitated with a wave breaker for the safety of anchored ships, he told reporters after officiating an event at UiTM Kelantan here Wednesday.
Azran said MITI would work with the state Economic Planning Unit and the office of the state secretary on land requisition to facilitate the development of the city.
Since early this year, many investors from China, Bangladesh and Syria have been visited Tok Bali with a commitment to invest in the area.
