KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 1 — Protasco Bhd has bagged a RM300.5 million contract from Perbadanan Putrajaya to construct 1,100 houses in Putrajaya under the 1Malaysia Civil Servants Housing Programme (PPA1M).
“This project is expected to contribute positively to Protasco’s future earnings,” said Datuk Sri Chong Ket Pen, its Executive Vice Chairman and Group Managing Director in a statement.
In 2013, Protasco was appointed as the developer to construct 1,680 apartment units under PPA1M in Putrajaya. In September, the project, with a value of up to RM578.5 million, was about 39% completed.
The Government is aiming to build 100,000 housing units throughout the country for civil servants.
Priced at between RM150,000 and RM300,000, the programme is part of the Government’s aim to provide affordable housing for civil servants.
